When my camera tracks movement, it follows the subject until it goes out of frame, but then takes ages to re-centre, missing other events that happen while it's pointing to the far left/right.
Is there a function that allows the user to choose how quickly the camera returns to the centre position?

Generally, after tracking an event, the camera will return to its default position after 30 seconds if no new events are detected.
