No WDS Bridge option available in Archer C50 V6
Hello,
I am tryinig to bridge my Archer C50 V6 (Main routrer) and my old router Tp-link wr8960n V8 ADSL 2+ modem/router.
My wr8960 does not have a range extender mode... but it worked fine when configured with my previous main router Archer C20 ( which is broken now).
I bought Archer C50 as an upgrade to C20 but it doesn't have WDS bridge optioin.
Archer C50 is in router mode...

Hello @useless_wizard ,
It is highly recommended that you set the C50 to Wireless router mode to ensure a more stable network connection.
As far as I know, most current router models no longer support WDS functionality.
Based on your testing, the Archer C50-v6's web interface does not include a WDS option. Page 114 of https://www.tp-link.com/in/document/75999/ also mentions the WDS bridging function.
Please note: WDS bridging only requires configuration on the extended router.
If you intend to use it as the main router, you won't be able to use this function properly.
In addition, the User Guide link https://www.tp-link.com/in/document/75999/ provides an introduction to the C50-v1. If you still cannot see the relevant WDS options after switching to range extender mode, this feature likely doesn't exist in V6. If so, I will report this to the relevant department for an update to the User Guide.

Hi,
WDS is an old and non-standardized technology that's been phased out by most router manufacturers in recent years. I guess that is just what happened with the Archer C50 V6.

Hello @useless_wizard ,
Welcome to our community.
Referring to spec of Archer C50-v6, its operation modes include Router Mode, Access Point Mode, Range Extender Mode.
For your need, you can try to set it to Range Extender Mode. Please refer to Archer C50(EU)_V6_User Guide (from page 94)

Thanks for the reply!
Kindly visit page 119 & 120 of the user manual, its clearly mentioned that WDS is available to be used...
https://www.tp-link.com/in/document/75999/
Also since I want to use Archer c50 as main router, using it in extender mode is not an option.
