Model: Archer BE550
Hardware Version: V1
Firmware Version: 1.2.3

Had load of issues over the last new days using fixed connections.

I've a BE550 V1 (or is it a BE9300 - that's what it says on the top of the web page!). That has a couple of hard-wired AX18s hanging off it working as access points. If I'm physically connected to the AX18s the BE550 router seem to have problems - the 192.168.0.1 admin page continuously disconnects, it drops connections etc (which is even more annoying if it's a streaming video service!). If I switch to WiFi connections the problems don't appear but the reason for wired is that WiFi has issues in my house - the brick has a very high iron content and all internal walls are constructed with it!

Noticed that the firmware auto-updated recently to 1.2.3 to fix a wired connection issue related to IPTV. I don't personally use IPTV but it's interesting that work was done in that area of the firmware stack. I've just tried downgrading back to 1.2.1 on the BE550 and everything is back to normal.

For the moment I'll turn autoupdate off on the device and stick to 1.2.1. I'll monitor the availability of updates obvs.

Hi, thank you very much for the feedback.

Did you use the same WiFi SSID on the Archer BE550 and the two Archer AX18s?

-If there is only BE500, were you still having the same issue?

-Or did the disconnection already start when both AX18s in Access Point mode are wired into the BE550?

Hi - sorry for taking a while to get back to you.

The issue seems to be with the wired connections only - there's no real sharing of WiFi between any of the devices.

The BE550 has a 2.4G SSID that covers all my IoT devices since they're all on a single floor and relatively near to each other. It also runs a separate 5G/6G SSID for other devices. The satellite AX18s only run a 5G SSID with the same name, different channels and the structure of the building means that there's virtually no signal overlap. EashMesh isn't viable (because of the lack of signal!) and most of the devices connecting to the AX18s are on wired connections anyway.

It's an odd one - if try and I connect through the AX18s (wired or wireless) to the BE550 admin console the connection becomes unstable. Also noticed that AirPrint through to a printer connected on the BE550 2.4G SSID fails - don't know if it's related, because it's routed or just an issue with the printer - if I switch the iPad to the 2.4G SSID it works!
