Hello,

I would like to ask for a clear clarification regarding the two 6 GHz radios on the BE95. The product is described as a quad-band WiFi 7 system, and its specifications list both 6 GHz-1 and 6 GHz-2 as separate radios. In the interface, they also appear separately as 6 GHz_1 and 6 GHz_2.

I understand that one of the 6 GHz radios may be intended mainly for backhaul in some scenarios. However, my question is specifically about configuration flexibility:

  1. Can 6 GHz-1 and 6 GHz-2 be configured separately?
  2. Can users assign different settings or roles to each 6 GHz radio instead of having them treated as one combined 6 GHz Wi‑Fi?

If separate configuration is not supported, what is the purpose of exposing 6 GHz_1 and 6 GHz_2 as separate items in the interface?

To make the question more precise, I am not asking whether one of the two 6 GHz radios may be used for backhaul. I am asking whether the two 6 GHz radios can be managed separately by the user.

Thank you

Hi, thank you very much for the feedback.

6GHz-1 and 6G-2 bands can't be configured separately.

They can be enabled simultaneously for clients to use, but they would share the same SSID and other advanced Wi-Fi settings.

Best regards.

Thank you for the clarification, I am very appreciated!

However, I would like to point out an inconsistency in the current firmware/app design. As shown in the screenshot I provided, the Deco app interface clearly exposes the radios individually, allowing users to select options like "6 GHz_2 Only" for certain network settings. This proves that the underlying system can distinguish and address the two 6 GHz radios independently.

Since the BE95 is a Wi-Fi 7 elite product, for me who expect the flexibility to fully utilize its quad-band hardware. Forcing both 6 GHz bands to share the exact same SSID and channel settings defeats the purpose of having two distinct 6 GHz radios.

My intention is to manage them separately to optimize network performance:

  1. Dedicating 6 GHz_1 (with 320MHz bandwidth) specifically for high-speed MLO clients.

  2. Using 6 GHz_2 for other standard 6E/7 devices or isolating specific high-traffic devices to prevent channel congestion.

If they share the same SSID and settings, clients will blindly roam between them, and I lose the ability to balance the RF load manually. Since this appears to be a software limitation rather than a hardware one, could you please forward this to the development team as a formal Feature Request? Allowing independent configuration (separate SSIDs, channel settings, and roles) for 6 GHz-1 and 6 GHz-2 would massively improve the value of this quad-band system.

Best regards.
