Model: Deco BE85
Hardware Version: V1
Firmware Version: 1.2.1 Build 20250731 Rel. 15505

I have a 2Gbps fibre service being supplied to my house and I am being told that the ONT is all showing as ok but whenever I speedtest through the DECO app I never show more than 1.18Gbps upload or download. My ISP is saying that I need to check the WAN port isn't throttled to a 1GB connection but I can't find where this is shown / set anywhere in the app or on the web browser.

How do I confirm that the port isn't being throttled and set to 2.5GB? I have tried a 2.5GB port as well as a 10GB port on the BE85. I am using a direct CAT 8 cable between the ONT box in it's 10GB port and the BE85 and the cable is 1m long.

Through Google it says the below, I don't have WAN Port as an option in the advanced menu

How to Configure the Fixed WAN Port

By default, the Deco BE85 uses "Auto WAN Port," which detects the incoming Ethernet connection automatically. To manually assign and lock a specific port: [1]

  1. Open the Deco app on iOS or Android.
  2. Tap More > Advanced > WAN Port.
  3. Disable Auto WAN Port.
  4. Tap Change WAN Port and select the 10G or 2.5G port you are using for your internet connection.
  5. Tap Confirm to save the settings.

Hi,
There is no option in the Deco app or the web UI to limit the associated/link speed of the Deco's Ethernet ports. The Ethernet ports on the Deco BE85 are 2.5Gbps or 10 Gbps. Usually, if the ethernet cable between the ONT and main Deco has a good quality, the associated/link speed between the Deco and ONT will not be capped at 1Gbps unless the ONT port itself is limited to 1Gbps.

Based on the information you provide, it is currently impossible to determine if the Deco is imposing a limit; I suggest connecting a laptop (whose Ethernet port's link speed is more than 2Gbps) directly to the ONT to verify the actual download speed from the ONT, and check if the associated/link speed on the laptop is more than 1Gbps.

Btw, the feature to fix the WAN port on the Deco is not supported by all Deco models. If you can find this option when using the Deco BE85, it should be because the BE85 does not currently support this feature.

Best Regards
