Adoption loop

After updating controller to 5.12.9 my router and switch are in a perpetual adoption loop. Network is fully functional. My temporary solution was to unplug the controller.

Any thoughts on a permanent solution? Eventualy I will want to get this stable again.

Controller Version: 5.12.9 Model: OC200 1.0 Firmware Version: 1.26.3 Build 20230906 Rel.36269

Switch: TL-SG2008P v1.0 Firmware: 1.0.8 Build 20230602 Rel.73473

Router: ER605 v1.0 Firmware: 1.3.0 Build 20230511 Rel.51317

EAP: EAP245(US) v3.0 Firmware: 5.1.0 Build 20230104 Rel. 79433

  @Hank21

TLDR: it fixed itself after naming the site something other than "default"

Initially, I restarted both the TL-SG2008P and OC200 and had the same looping result. I let the router and switch loop in and out of addoption for atleast an hour or two before unpluging the OC200.

Today,

I decided to power on the OC200 to trouble shoot since you were kind enough to reply to my above post, and the switch and router poped in and out of adopted a couple of times after it booted. (same behavior)

For some reason I deceided to actually name my site rather than leaving it as "default".  After I did that the router and switch went through one more addoption cycle and both stayed connected.  ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

To answer your questions. FWIW

Initially I had not changed any settings after the update to 5.12.9 before the loop began.

The EAP's were always solidly connected.

The network behaved and performed as expected through out this period. I resisted restarting the router since it was working but did restart the switch since I have a backup.

I realize restarting is not the same as forgetting and re-adopting but I was resistant to messing too much with a functioning network.

Hello @PietroSpina,

Thanks for reporting this issue to our Business Community!

Could you forget the TL-SG2008P and re-adopt it for testing?

Did you change any settings after the firmware upgrades?

May I confirm whether only the EAP still shows connected on the controller?
