VIGI app

 

Issue Description:

 

VIGI app on Android/iPhone cannot receive a notification.

 

Troubleshooting Steps:

 

1. Check your phone system.

 

If it is Android, please make sure your phone is installed with the Google Framework(Service).
Push notifications on the VIGI app rely on Google's service.

2. Make sure your phone or network can access the servers of the VIGI.

 

If there is a national firewall blocking access to the VIGI servers or any of the Google Framework servers, you cannot receive the notification either.
 

3. Make sure you are using a public DNS server.

 
If you are using ad-block DNS servers or a self-hosted server, you may be blocked by the rules on the DNS servers.

 

4. Avoid a VPN connection while you are using the VIGI.

 

VPN may hijack or replace the DNS servers and eventually, you may experience the same issue in point 3.

 

5. Check the mode and notification settings.

 

Disable DND mode and make sure you have enabled the notification for VIGI. You can follow the steps in this guide: Why Can’t I Receive VIGI App Notifications After Turning On Notifications?
