Hi All, Thanks for your feedback.
There is no plan to add 160mhz in the later firmware release on Archer VR2800;
And the firmware will only be added should resources and hardware allow, while the advertisement was never intended as a guarantee and more of a reference.
We understand how it was causing some confusion, to that regard we have already removed the advertisement from the TP-Link official website.
Appreciated your understanding and support.

2020 and still waiting!
When I enquired last year, this was the response:
"Thank you very much for requesting information about our product.
Unfortunately, I have no way to find out the specific time for this as it should be going through the test process. Please wait patiently and pay close attention to our official website.
Thanks for your cooperation and have a nice day.
>Can you tell me when the Archer VR2800 will support the 160MHZ channels as adverstised on the box and your website? "160MHz bandwidth technology will follow later by updating"
Your feedback is very important to us, please feel free to contact me for further help.
Best Regards

@MoodyB TP-Link are taking the mickey here. Regretting my recent purchase of the VR2800, which keeps losing the 5GHz signal every few days until rebooted.
Next time I'll buy a Billion roouter.

I hope this is a f**king joke?
I only purchased this router as it promised an upcoming 160mhz firmware update and now I come on here and see people have been waiting literaly years for this??
This seems verging on fraudulent to have the pending update mentioned on their advertiising, if they aren't going to release it!
Very, very unhappy!

So I've just had a long chat with TPLInk via thier chat system.
They 've told me to check back in four weeks, which I will do, but if there isn't some kind of info on potential release dates then I think some acton needs to be taken as they can't get away with indefinitely advertising an upcoming update that never arrives. I'm pretty sure trading standards would have something to say about this.

Judging by the amount of firmware updates released for this unit since 2017, I'm not too hopeful we'll get it in four weeks!
But hey, they could shock us all!

Honestly, neither am I mate, but I'm annoyed about this as I think it's dishonest of them to keep the promise of an update on the packaging and the product page when it clearly seems like the device is no longer fully supported and they have no plans to update.
If they have no new news for me in four weeks then I'm going to make an official complaint and ask them to have the product page updated. If they aren't willing to do that then I will report this to trading standards as I'm pretty sure they are breaking some advertising laws here.

I've just spent £160 quid on one of these and after a load of googling around for the update that enables it I find this?! This router was released 2 years ago and they haven't enabled 160MHz... one of the only reasons I bought it. That's criminal to sell something under those pretences.
I have had a conversation with TPL on chat and they insisted they would have someone e-mail me within 5 days with an update on the situation from the development team.
I am Sceptical

@camaran So I've had an update, their team have no plans to suport 160MHz on the VR2800. I'm looking into options at the moment.
