by Using TP-Link TD-W9970 as bridge mode will it make the router/modem vulnerability to Wan attacks or the only way to get to the router firmware and configure it is from the Lan side ?

Hi,

Working in bridge mode will not make it vulnerable to wan attacks.

In bridge mode, you need to connect pc directly to the modem and set up internet connection on your pc. If you want to change firmware or settings, log in from the pc by using its default access on the bottom of the modem.

thank you for the fast repsone.

my fear is someone will try to target the TD-W9970 and reconfigure it from the wan side.

i like to use the TD-W9970 as a modem and connect it to the Archer C5400X.

or if i looking for security it is better to just buy a modem ?

Hi,

When the TD-W9970 in the bridge mode, it's work the same as a pure modem. We have not received the feedback about the TD-W9970 have some security issue.
