Hello,

Sorry to tell you that the TD-W8970 does not support firmware recovery.

While considering the router has out of warranty, you can buy a new router with better performance or try to flash the 3rd party firmware to give it a go.

Good day.

thanks for your answer.

its a pity cant recover original firmware for such a silly mistake.

really the problem was caused by poor comunication between usb wifi adapter TL-WN823n V1 which for a while has problems with windows 10...

i think my modem router will go to the trash cause works  very bad with third party firmware....

Hi,

you are very welcome;

regarding to the USB wifi adapter, what is the current problem? like slow speed, unstable connection?

Below are some suggestions:

1. Change the wireless settings of the main router;

2. Cause there is no TP-LINK official driver, which can be installed automatically by the system, you can change another USB port.

3. Besides, you can move it closer to the main router to get better signal strength.

Good day.

the problem with usb adapter is that loses wif signal from router

when this happends i run the windows problem solver and results says that:

the default gateway is not available...

driver included with windows 10 not solves the problem.

it happens to me with 3 identical adapters TL-WN823N-V1

with one TL-WN823N-V3 works great

the only solution i found for v1 is install driver for windows 8.1 has worse reception but at least works

Hello,

As you know, there is no official driver for windows 10 of TL-WN823N V1, so it is hard to guarantee its performance; while the chipset is Realtek RTL8192CU, you can search online whether there is public driver for it. Otherwise, it is suggested to use TL-WN823N V3 with Windows 10 which has official driver for it.

Good day.
