Archer C9 V1 SMB 2.0 Support
I purchased my router August 25, 2017, less than 20 months ago. I am still within the warranty period. I am running into a HUGE headache since the router no longer supports the minimum standard to support connectivity to my 4 Windows 10 computers. Since Windows released version 1809 last OCTOBER, SMB 2.0 has been the minimum required standard for SMB file shares. The v1 C9 only supports SMB 1.0. This is a HUGE issue, considering the vunerabilities with that particular protocol. Every other hardware version of this router supports SMB 2.0. When you purchase a router, the vendor does not give you any choice which version you recieve.
I am now stuck, within my original warranty period, with a product that does not provide the functionality for which I initially purchased it. I have held off moving to Windows 10 1809 for more than 6 months, hoping that TP-Link would release an update to their firmware for my router. This seems to have been in vain.
Please let me know if there is a forthcoming firmware update. If not, I need to see how I can get my router replaced with one that supports SMB 2.0.
