Archer C6 2.4G band stops working, disable then enable restores
Recently purchased Archer C6 Router running the latest firmware. On 4 occasions the 2.4G WiFi band has stopped working, devices can connect to it but get no network access. Disabling and enabling the 2.4G band on the admin interface restores the connectivity, the 5G band is not affected, a device connected to it is used to reset the 2.4G band.
I used the chat support service to discuss the issue and the suggestion was to change from automatic to a fixed channel for the 2.4G band, this appeared to resolve the issue but it has happened again today, a phone which only works on 2.4G was showing the WIFI as access denied.
is there anything else I can do to resolve this issue.

I have the same problem. Sometimes the 2.4G network works fine for more than a week, and sometimes it stops working twice the same day.
So far I tried the suggested solutions:
- Disabled WPS.
- Enabled 2.4G Guest network.
- WPA2/PSK AES Encryption.
- Changed the channel width to 20MHz although I bought the router EXCLUSIVELY to use the Smart Connect functionality and it can't do both.
FW version: 1.3.6 Build 20200902 rel.65591(4555)
HW Version: Archer C6 v2.0

Hi,
I have tried many things with no success, but after many tries this works for me since 3 weeks :
- disable smart connect
- disable 5GHz band
- 2.4GHz = version : auto / encryption : AES / mode : 802.11b/g/n mixed / channel width : 20MHz / channel : 6
- disable WPS
you can try this ;)

Hi
Thank you! I'll give it a try, but I don't think dissabling half the wifi funcionalities is a valid long term solution.
This bug seems to be widespread accross almost all TP-Link Archer routers and it's been more than a year without a valid solution :(

Yes but waiting a new firmware it could be an alternative solution...

Guys, finally solved the issue.
After over a year of no onemesh, then Instable wifi and onemesh not in sight for the powerline repeaters, I was finally done with tp-link.
Bought a set (3) of tenda nova mw3 for 80 bucks. Perfect wifi on my whole apartment.
So easy and it's just working as expected.
This should be marked as the best solution.
Bye guys, have fun over here.

@QWERTZ I bought another brand too, but keep an eye in this forum just to see when it is solved. My tplink C6 has OpenWRT for months, and is used as a wifi bridge in client mode. Perfect this way. Hardware is good.Onemesh, wpa3... too much for a cheap router. I need less features, but running ok.

What I have noticed is...
This problem only occurred to me when
My Guest 2.4ghz SSID is enabled!
Disabled it... And the problem hasn't occurred in a while.
The main 2.4ghz SSID is working absolutely fine.
