AC2800 Archer VDSL/ADSL won't configure
I recently bought a TP Link AC2800 Wireless VDSL/ADSL Archer Modem Router to replace my poor functioning Netgear Nighthawk. The Netgear kept dropping its DNS.
After following the quick installation guide to setting up, all the LED indicators light up: power, DSL, wireless 2.4Ghz and 5Ghz, LAN and USB. But the internet icon stays orange. I've tried rebooting three times but still no change and no access to the internet. I've had to revert to the Netgear Nighthawk, so internet access isn't the problem.
Can someone shine a light on this please. BTW, my router isn't displayed in the Model drop down list.
Many thanks.

Internet led orange means that the internet is still unavailable. Please ensure that you use the same username and password given by ISP to configure this Archer VR2800.
Cause the old Netgear one works well, you can contact ISP to verify whether there is any mac filtering/mac binging which blocks the internet access of the Archer VR2800.
Besides, you can show us a screenshot of the status page.
Good day.

Many thanks Kevin_Z for your helpful reply.
When trying to configure my AC2800 on the PC, I opened the TP Link router settings - it asked me to log in with a password which I don't have. As I wasn't able to access the internet, I couldn't register my router. Is this a catch 22 or is it me? I'm not the sharpest tool when it comes to playing with the internet/computer stuff.

The login password is admin by default; Once you accessed the web UI of the Archer VR2800, you can go to quick setup to configure it with the username and password given by ISP.
If admin does not work, you can hard reset the router by holding the reset button/hole for 10s and relogin with admin.
May it help and have a nice day.

Hi.
I bought this modem with great expectations. Because my modem remained very old. and this modem is exactly 9 times stronger on the paper. but unfortunately I made a decision that I will always be disappointed
because the range is unfortunately very short. It is constantly falling off the internet. It is not possible to watch live broadcast on Instagram. It is impossible to watch live streaming on TV. Because it is constantly falling off the internet. The reason is that the signal quality is very low
I have one RE500 router. He even says you need to get closer to the modem. Quality broadcasts cannot be received from this distance.
How can I fix that problem.
