Hi, I'm facing problem with my TP Link TD-W8961N(EU) that I can't filter any URL or even totally block any device from connecting to the internet whether using IP or MAC filtering. 

My router came first with Firmware Version : 3.0.0 Build 170919 Rel.21648.
So, I checked the local TP Link website and updated firmware to Version: 3.0.0 Build 180118 Rel.05999, but still facing the same problem I also downgraded to Version : 3.0.0 Build 170103 Rel.02853 from the same website with no luck.

 

So, could you please guide me how to fix this filtering issue?

Hello, you can refer to page 55-56 of the user manual to totally block some device to access internet and page 57 to block some specific websites. 

 

While cause the TD-W8961N has few ages, it may not able to block some https website.

Thank you so much for your reply,
I already read the manual and I followed all the steps, but maybe -as you said- it can't block HTTPS which is used by most websites now. So, I hope there will be a new firmware upgrade soon to solve this problem, until that happens, unfortunately this device is useless for me.

And by the way I bought this router from my ISP just a month ago :/

There is no firmware available yet to update, you can keep an eye on official website for more updates.

 

Besides, you can contact ISP and verify whether you can change another router which can satisft your needs.
