Deco M4 v2 web interface error
Deco M4 v2 web interface error

Model: Deco M4
Hardware Version: V2
Firmware Version: 1.1.6 Build 20190801 Rel. 59376

As of this week, I own a couple of Deco M4s and while so far everything's been working great, but there'S one thing I'm having trouble with, accessing its web interface.

The app is working just fine, but sometimes you just wanna change things from the big screen, you know? laugh

So anyway, as soon as I enter the router's LAN IP (which I've changed in the app to 192.168.0.1, but the default one wasn't working either) the URL in browser shows as http://192.168.0.1/webpages/index.html and the website shows this error: "The requested URL /webpages/index.html was not found on this server."

Also tried setting up TP-Link DDNS but trying to access that URL from my browser shows another error - "Rejected request from RFC1918 IP to public server address"

Is this a known bug or is there something I'm missing here?

@w3by

Please ensure that you have connected your device to the Deco M4, and confirm that it has obtained valid IP address and gateway from it.

Try to follow this FAQ to login to the web UI with the domain name.

https://www.tp-link.com/support/faq/2641/

Still the same, try to clear the browser cache and cookies; and you can change another web browser or device to give it a go.

May it help.

@Kevin_Z This isn't my first rodeo with setting up a router. It's fully up and running and I am very much connected to it, obviously (which also means it has a valid IP address and gateway).

Clearing cookies or changing browsers didn't help and I get the same 404 error when trying to access the browser-based settings page no matter what browser or device (that is also connected to the same network, of course) I use.

@w3by

Try to ping the gateway of the Deco M4 and show us the screenshot.

Try to open a New incognito window and access the web UI of the Deco M4.

And please connect your computer  to the main Deco only and test whether it works.

Still the same, please show us the current network diagram.

@Kevin_Z  Here's the ping results

And a screenshot of opening the gateway address in incognito window of Chrome.

As far as the network diagram, I have no idea if there's an easy way to make one, but it's basically the main Deco unit connected to the modem with the other 2 Deco units connected to the main one via wifi.

Aside from one device (usually my Android TV, but I connected it to my computer to take the screenshots you see above), which has a wired connection with the main Deco unit, everything else connects to it via wifi.

And as I said, this 404 error page isn't limited to just my computer, it's any device trying to access 192.168.0.1 (which is the IP address I've manually set to be the default gateway, but again, it doesn't matter as I got the same results when trying with the default address before changing it).

@w3by

Thanks for your reply.

Try to access the web UI with the LAN IP address and port number 30000.

Still the same, try to hard reset it and reconfigure to give it a go.

Best regards.

@Kevin_Z Sorry for not replying all month. Been a busy one, and I couldn't be bothered resetting and setting up the network all over again (even tho it'd take like 10-15 minutes :D).

Anyway, I see that v2 recieved a new update recently and I updated my Decos and, surprise surprise, the web interface works now. So problem solved :)

Vi ringrazio in anticipo

saluti
