Model: Archer VR600v
Hardware Version: V2
Firmware Version: 1.0.0 0.9.1 v0078.0 Build 170814 Rel.66346n

This page https://www.tp-link.com/de/support/download/archer-vr600v/#Firmware says that there are two firmware upgrades available for my router.

When I click "online upgrade" it says "Your firmware is up to date", which is not true.

When I download the firmware from that page and try to update router over the web interface, it says "Error code: 4503 The uploaded file was not accepted".

How can I update the router firmware?

@fletchgqc

FYI, please upgrade firmware from the local TP-Link official website of the purchase location for your TP-Link device.

Meanwhile, from the link attached, it is the firmware for DE version, while yours is EU version, they are not compatible with each other. and that is reason why you get the error code.

May it help.

Thanks @Kevin_Z for the response. What do you mean by "EU version" - Europe? Europe is not available on this list:

https://www.tp-link.com/en/choose-your-location/

Which website should I use?

@fletchgqc

Sorry to make you misunderstand; The EU version means the country version over firmware version, the link you attached is the local official website, it is the actual location. They are different.

The devices sold in US are US version, while the devices sold in different countries in Europe use EU version; that is to verify their firmware.

Wish I make myself clear this time.

@Kevin_Z Could you please provide the link to the website where I can download the correct firmware for my router?

@Kevin_Z OK, thanks for that. It seems strange that my router doesn't get the security fixes that were released for other regions, but I guess there's not much I can do, maybe there's a reason.

Thanks for your reply.

You can adjust the wireless password/login password, disable remote management to enhance the local network security.

Besides, you can keep an eye on official website for the updates.

Good day.
