[Solution] Deco app PPPOE service name-Solution

Hello @Praveen_Kanwar and all,

The option to allow modifying the PPPoE service name has been added on firmware 1.5.0 and above.
(Currently, Deco E4/S4/M4, Deco M5, M9 plus, Deco X20/X60, etc., are all supported.)

When you choose PPPoE as the internet connection, you will see the additional settings about PPPoE service name for example:

For some of the models which did not have firmware 1.5.0 yet, please refer to the following suggestions:
Normally, the PPPoE service name is not necessary for most Internet Providers, so you should be able to connect to the internet without it.

However, if your ISP does require this PPPoE service name, and the internet is not working without it, we will need to confirm some basic information, then we can speed up the troubleshooting:

1. Which country are you located in, and who is your ISP?

2. What are the model number as well as the firmware version of your Deco devices?
3. When configuring the PPPoE connection on the Deco without the service name, how about the LED status on the Deco nodes?

Thank you very much!

@pd200550

Hello, what is the service name?

The Deco M9 plus supports PPPoE, you can enter the username and password to set it up.

@Kevin_Z

PPPoE also has Service Name as parameter requirement where a text string is required to be put.

That Service Name parameter input is missing in Deco system.

So what's the work around or any way to enable Service Name?

@prathm5287 I spoke with tplink Service. They said pppoe will not work with the deco e4 or m4. I took static ip from my ISP. Thats was the only way.

@Ashishngupta

No I have not found any solution for same.

I contacted TP-Link service, they told me that right now there is no solution for same. They might update it in future but when this feature will be incorporated in app they can't say.

Crazy. I have the same problem. Every other wifi router I have ever had has this as a parameter you can enter, but not Deco. My solution has been to put an old router between my model and the Deco, and use Deco in Access Point mode, but I fear that extra step may be the source of the intermittent outages I'm getting on Zoom. @TP-Link -- please fix this!

@pd200550 I'm also stuck with this issue. @tplink It is strange that a high end router does not have such a basic configuration feature.
