@Kaspar

Same things happened to me few days ago, manually upgraded from the last firmware on my AX1500 and now i'm stuck with WDS connection on my C6 router.

I'm unable to downgrade it on the web config tool, so TFTP recovery is the only way, if it can work, if not i will have to push the openwrt firmware on my C6, but 5G will be slower.

Revert back to a previous FW release is a workaround. A similar issue with AX6000 has been resolved here.

Have you tried to disable OneMesh and Smart Connect features and test again ?

Yes, i'm not 100% sure for deactivating OneMesh but i probably tried to disable every new feature before going into OpenWrt.

Smart Connect is not checked already.

With official firmware, the WDS status in the C6 was "Run" but not working. Maybe i should try to start a new topic to get attention of the support.

Edit: or try on the pinned topic about new AX10 firmware

I was able to finally connect a secondary router in WDS mode to the AX73. This is a Mercusys MR50G router with firmware 1.5.5 Build 210308 Rel.66970n (4555). On AX73 firmware 1.0.2 Build 20201112 rel. 53967 (4555). In this combination, WDS works.

@wandog I confirm that after the last firmware update of AX6000 (used as primary router) the WDS on the secondary TP-LINK router stopped working. Will have to use open source firmware on the secondary.

No warning about that in the release notes. So much for "improvements". Lost a good Sunday trying to figure out what's wrong.

Bad reputation for tp-link.

For me on AX10, seems old 'WDS Mode' option was the solution in my C6 router

But this setting is only available on very old firmware, running this one i had to set 'WDS 1' before upgrading to latest C6 firmware.

Maybe you can do this with your own router.

I had to use the oldest firmware on C6 because only this one can be pushed with TFTP method, reverting back from OpenWrt.

@terziyski

That was the solution, an old option is the key

About WDS modes in details.

Here's an interesting workaround - a user managed to select WDS mode with Archer C6(EU)_V2_200512 FW release (maybe newer as well).

@Kevin_Z
will WDS be available on AX1500 in the future?
(Any Update on this!)

When?

Why do these expensive routers lack such basic features like WDS, Bandwidth control .....!

@Shield

As far as I know, there is currently no plan to add the support for the WDS feature on the AX10/AX1500, these AX series are mainly designed to work as the main router. If you need to extend the wireless network, it is suggested to buy a range extender.
