Model: Archer VR900
Hardware Version: V1
Firmware Version:

Hello to all,

I'm a new member.

Sorry, but my English is so bad...

I'm writing from Italy.

Next week, I'm starting to change my internet connection from ADSL to FTTC

An easy question: with last firmware and the VDSL, the Archer vr900 V1 can have a downstream data rates up to 200Mbps?

In the User guide main features I read: Downstream and upstream data rates up to 100Mbps

Thanks

Regards

Alberto66

@Alberto66

Thanks for your reply.

The Archer VR900 is an ADSL/VDSL modem router, for the VDSL connection, the maximum speed is 100Mbps, it is fixed and decided by the technology. Cannot be changed. That is why you saw that the downstream and upstream data rates up to 100Mbps.

While the ethernet ports are gigabit; if you changed the VDSL connection to fiber, then you can enjoy faster speed.

Wish I make myself clear.

Hello Alberto, the Archer VR900 has the gigabit WAN/LAN ports, theoretically, it can handle gigabit connection.

May I know where do you see that the downstream and upstream data rates up to 100Mbps? Please show us a link.

Thanks in advance.

@Kevin_Z

Hello Kevin,

yes, the wan/lan ports are gigabit ports, but with this ports you connect your devices with the Archer.

I refer the question to the vdsl port. With this port you connect the modem to the Internet.

Which is this connection speed?

In the User Guide manual (https://static.tp-link.com/res/down/doc/Archer_VR900(EU)_V1_UG.pdf), in the "1.2 Main Feauters", you can read: "Downstream and upstream data rates up to 100Mbps

With the last version firmware for the Archer VR900 V1, this downstream data rate can be up to 200Mbps?

It's important because my internet provider can supply to me the connection up to 200Mbps.

Thanks

Regards
