Model: Deco M9 Plus
Hardware Version: V1
Firmware Version:

I noticed a serious performance problem on my local network the last couple of days. First suspect was the TP link routers and sure enough, problems vanished after a reboot of all my units.

So the question is, although I have little hope, is there a way to schedule reboots of these M9 things?

cheers

@Kbarry2

Hi, thanks for your feedback.

This feature request has been accepted.

Please keep attention to the new firmware notification on the Deco APP;

Thank you.

@realjax

Sorry to tell you that the Deco M9 plus does not support reboot schedule yet, we have noted that and will keep an eye on similar feedback.

You can reboot it manually or create a schedule to reboot it automatically with a smart plug.

May it help.

@realjax

I would also like to see a scheduled reboot feature added to the next version of firmware.  I have multiple wifi security cameras that work great for a couple days after rebooting my Deco M9 mesh system and subsequently experience performance degradation as a result of network congestion until I again reboot my wifi.

@Kevin_Z Please allow me to add my vote in support for a scheduled reboot feature. I have M9+ V2 with 1.4.2 Build 20200725 Rel. 65637 firmware and just noticed that my connection was degraded. A manual reboot fixed it.

I would prefer to have a feature to allow automatic reboot at a user defined time (say, 03:00 in the morning) and with a user defined interval, for example at 1 week intervals). This would keep the system nice and healthy at all times. Thanks.

@Kevin_Z This is absolutely necessary.  The network slows to a crawl every 24-48 hours and a reboot is required to get the speed back to normal.  The smart plug reboot is not really a viable option since it only reboots a single device not all decos simultaneously.  Please add this feature to an upcoming firmware update or I will be forced to switch to another system.

That feature is a must. Other 2014 TP-Link routers have this as well as the competitors. I don't gey why M9 doesn't support this. 🤔

Please add my vote to the list. Deco P9 here. Scheduled reboot is an absolute requirement for me, because the network speed is reduced to a crawl every few days, and a reboot is the only fix.

@realjax

Yes, please. I had Belkin router with documentation that advertised a lot its "self healing" feature. In fact, it were nothing more than scheduled reboot you can set once a night at specific time, daily or weekly.

Reboot takes care of memory leaks and possible other issues, hence "self healing" moniker.

I am sure Deco could benefit from "self healing" feature, too, especially if advertised as such.

For anyone interested in workaround proposed by TP-Link Support, search for "Kasa Smart WiFi Plug Mini by TP-Link." Manufacturer model HS103. I see it on sale often recently.

If you need two-pack, search for HS103p2, and three-pack would be HS103p3, at least this is how it is labeled on Amazon.

I bought one of those: very easy configuration, simple schedule to turn off and on device connected to it, joins Deco mesh without problem. Nice small device.

@growler_nyc_90

You can get TP-Link Smart plug on Amazon USA for just $9.99 (it is on sale).
