Model: RE450
Hardware Version:
Firmware Version:

I set the extender up today everything was flawless! 8 hours later and it is not showing that it is connected to the 5Ghz. Originally it mirrored the SSID of my 2Ghz and 5Ghz after resetting it and the router and reconnecting the extender to my router the extenders SSID now shows 2Ghz/5Ghz instead of them individually. Any thoughts or help will be appreciated!

@Jeremie01

Hello, may I know how did you find out that the extender failed to connect to the 5GHz?

What about the 5GHz wifi led on the RE450? Can you see the 5GHz wifi name of the RE450? If you use the same wifi name, you can give it a different wifi name.

Besides, please ensure that the firmware is up to date. and what is the model number of the main router?

Thanks a lot.

I have a similar problem. The 5GHz light is on. It actually connects and then drops the 5GHz after about an hour. I don't think its interference because the same thing happens when the extender is set up right next to the router.

I use a Archer AX50 router and RE450 extender.

From the Extender is not connecting to 5G Band, does not recognize it, only 2G is being recognized and able to connect.

The 5G light does not light up also.

I am however able to see other 5G band (from neighbors), even if the router is less 2 meters away.

Suspicion- is that RE450 does not support Wifi-6

@Sunab

Hi,

Have you tried to change the wireless channel on the AX50 to be channel 40/48 for the 5ghz?

Wait for your reply.

@tp-link Thank you, It worked! Does this mean the RE450 does not support Wifi-6? When & will there be a firmware update?
