Hello!

 

I have a problem with my access point when I try to use it as an extender (repeater) so that it picks up a wireless signal and extends it with the same SSID and password.

 

PROBLEM: When I set up the access point, devices (TV, Apple or Android smartphone, Windows laptop) connect to it normally and have full-speed access to the internet, but after a maximum of half an hour the device disconnects from the access point and it does not want to connect to it again.

 

TRIED SOLUTIONS:

1. Reboot - devices connect and again lose connection after a short time again

2. Hard reset - same story

3. Moving the access point closer to source signal - no difference.

Hello, please help check the below troubleshooting:

 

1. If the WA801ND is an EU version, try to update its firmware to the latest one on the TP-Link official website:

How to upgrade the firmware: https://www.tp-link.com/support/faq/699/

 

2. After upgrading the firmware, try to reset the device to factory defaults and set it up again by logging into its web UI:

https://www.tp-link.com/support/faq/492/

 

3. Send us the system log (System Tools-System Log) when the internet drops, don't reboot it, otherwise, the log will be cleared.

 

Besides, what is the model number of your host router? Please ensure there are no special settings such as access control or online limitation for the LAN devices.

Same problem and I have the last software version.  Is there a solution  to that. It is  very frustrating.
