Model: Archer C1200
Hardware Version: V1
Firmware Version: 1.1.2 Build 20180123 (US)

Hello tp-link Firmware/Support Team:

The Archer C1200 V3 has a new firmware, released on May 13, 2020. Is there a plan to release the same/updated firmware for V1 and V2 hardware? Currently, when selecting firmware for the V1 or V2, the latest firmware for V3 is display. Is there a link to the newer V1 or V2 firmware that was overlooked for downloads?

Thank you in advance for your attention to V1 and V2 firmware.

@Solla-topee

Thank you for the reply.

It is very disappointing, knowing that no new firmware for V1 & V2. The router was purchased a bit over a year ago. Normally, the seller does not display what hardware version at their website. The seller used specifications and product images from tp-link, but no hardware version listed.

My recommendation for potential buyers is to review OpenWRT website, see which router(s) are supported by OpenWRT. This way router firmware will not be EOL in the near future. Additionally, search this forum for router heat and instability issue too.

Not a happy customer and disappointed in tp-link.
