TpPLC utility for Mac OS X?!
TpPLC utility for Mac OS X?!

I have a WPA4220 v1 that keeps losing internet connection. Driving me up the wall. I have followed all troubleshooting advice from the TP Link site, but I am unable to do anything with the tpPLC Utility because I CANNOT find a download for the Mac anywhere. I've searched the site, and the App Store but nothing.

So forgive me if this is a dumb question but -

how do Mac users use this utility? What's going on? Am I missing something here?

Any advice appreciated folks, this is driving me nuts! 🥴

@WDNix

May I know how many Powerline devices do you have in total and how they connect to each other?

If you want to install the Utility on a MAC, please check below:

@Solla-topee I have the v4 hardware version of TL-WPA4220(US) and there appears to be no MacOS TpPLC utility for this version.  Can that be correct?  I find this very surprising.  Please advise.

@AndreasW

Hello, sorry for not making it clear.

You may download and install the tpPLC Utility from the global website to give it a go first and we will soon check and update it on the local websites:

@Solla-topee Unfortunately, the version this gets me to is only applicable to MacOS 10.7 - 10.12.  I am running MacOS 10.15.5

@Solla-topee Unfortunately, that does not help. I installed from the link you sent, but when I run the application, the window disappears immediately on my macOS 10.15.5 computer.

I note that the modification date (Nov 6, 2019) and size (1.5 MB) of this application is the same as a version that I already have installed: V1.2.3596.1

The V1.2.3596.1 tpPLC that I have installed contains "Confidential Only For Test" lettering and will NOT permit me to update the firmware of my recently purchased device to the latest version.

With significant urgency, please provide a functional production-quality tpPLC application for macOS users with up-to-date operating systems.

Best regards,

Andreas

@AndreasW

Hi, for your issue, can I know the connection topology in your home?

What's the model number, hardware version of the recently purchased device?

You have installed two same versions V1.2.3596.1 software tpPLC Utility on your two MAC PCs which are both macOS 10.15.5, right?

One has the issue that the window disappears immediately when you run the application.

The other one has the issue that you can't update the firmware version of the new powerline device, right?

Look forward to your reply.

@WDNix

Hi, for your issue, can you explain it in detail for us since you just said your issue was exact same as the above person?

May I know the model number, hardware version of your powerline units?

Your PC is also macOS 10.15.5?

Look forward to your reply.
