Model: Archer C6
Hardware Version: V2
Firmware Version: 1.3.5 Build 20200630 rel.57406

Hello,

Are there any plans to add features like DNS over HTTPs or DNS filtering anytime soon? I am using adguard home right now which is really good but the downside is that I have to run my laptop 24/7 which is why I would prefer these things on router itself.

Hi,

As per your description, which seems to be achieved by enabling the Parental Control settings on the C6, you may give it a go:

https://www.tp-link.com/support/faq/1531/

May this helps.

@gauravmuk

A solutiuon that also works great is a (free) account at nextdns.io. This is a private DNS service that can fiter websites for example adds, but also themes like adult material, violence. NextDNS work with managed packages/lists of websites you can toggle on/off. Site listed in these lists are blocked before they eve enter your network. AdGuard has several listst available you can toggle on. But there are even more comprehensie lists than just AdGuard to choose from.
In the WAN settings of your TP-link  router you can change the DNS settings of your provider to the DNS of nextdns. Works great on my TL-R605.
There is also a mobile app.
