Model: Archer VR2800
Hardware Version: V1
Firmware Version: 1.1.0 0.9.1 v009e.0 Build 200116 Rel.60756n

** Please note that my issue is with an Archer VR2100 model modem, not an VR2800... however the VR2100 model was not selectable in the 'model dropdown when creating this thread **

I have a 3TB NTFS format Seagate Expansion USB HDD that I plug into my TP-Link ARCHER VR2100 (AC2100) modem/router.

The modem is recognising, and mounting the HDD (solid USB light on the modem), but in the console, the drive shows as 0GB, and so the content is inaccessible.

If I plug the HDD back into my laptop, the content is still all there, and is accessible.

I've used this exact HDD succesfully with my 2 previous TP-Link routers (Archer D9 and Archer VR1600v), but it is not working with this new modem.

The HDD is not encrypted, and bitlocker is not installed.

I dont believe that its a partition size issue, there is guidance on the TP-Link site suggesting that Archer modems can handle 5GB partitions, and the previous 2 modems handled this HDD without problem.

@That_Guy

Good day.

Thank you very much for your time and patience.

Sorry for the delay.

For your case, we would like to forward your case via email and please check your email box later.

At the same time, please help me check the following information

  1. Can I have a picture which shows as 0GB on the web interface?
  2. What is the format type of the HDD (FAT32, NTFS, EXT2, EXT3, etc.)?

Thank you very much.

@Serdar1034

Hello, thanks for asking.

Please ensure you are already running the latest official firmware which can be downloaded from the official website:

https://www.tp-link.com/support/download/archer-vr2100/#Firmware

If you still encounter an issue that the USB drive is appeared as 0GB when plugged into the USB port of the VR2100, ensure first this USB or hard drive can be identified correctly when plugged into a computer directly, you can see the correct storage or capacity.

If this is confirmed, you may try the below beta firmware for the VR2100, and see if it fixes the USB display issue:

https://static.tp-link.com/2020/202010/20201009/Archer_VR2100V1_200927.zip

Below is the guide to update the firmware:

https://www.tp-link.com/support/faq/1756/

I hope this helps. Good day.
