Model: Archer C1200
Hardware Version: V2
Firmware Version: 0.2.0 0.9.1 v0070.0 Build 170719 Rel.63031n

Hello,

I just bought Archer VR400 today and to my surprise there is no bandwidth control available, i find this absurd and many lower cost routers include such a feature, for now i am all open for suggestions and ideas to limit the bandwidth even if it is not supported.

Thank you.

@Eagleman

Good day,

Thank you very much for your time and patience.

Sorry for the delay.

If you do not mind, you could have a look at TD-W9970 V4.

https://www.tp-link.com/en/home-networking/dsl-modem-router/td-w9970/#specifications

Here is its emulator for your reference:

https://emulator.tp-link.com/w9970-v4-en/index.htm

it supported VDSL and could set up bandwidth control for each devices.

But it does not have 4 gigabit ports and all the 4* LAN ports are 1× 10/100 Mbps

Thanks a lot.

Good day,

Thank you very much for your time and patience.

Sorry for the delay.

Currently, almost all the new models of DSL modem router used QoS(Quality of service) to replace the bandwidth control since Qos is more flexible and could make full use of all the internet bandwidth;

Please refer to this link to have a look:

Thanks a lot.

@Sunshine

Thank you for the reply,

My main problem is I live in a country were quota is very low and expensive but bandwidth is abundant, now my kids use youtube and other demanding sites all the time so I wanted to limit bandwidth for each of my kids individually (3mb/s or less) and force 480p videos on youtube and those other sites.

Now that I have stated my problem scenario, I am looking for a VDSL router that supports bandwidth control (download & upload) for each connected device (on wireless or direct connection to the router with a network cable) individually by MAC address also a plus would be to support gigabit speed on all ports (wan - lan ports) for fast file transfer on lan. Sorry for the long problem description but nothing to be found or trusted on google so far and I would appreciate any guidance.

@Sunshine

This week I needed to buy a Vdsl modem. W9970 and VR400 were two main devices on local market. So as I know W9970 is almost 4 years old model, I purchased VR400.

I want to use bandwidth limit only for guest WiFi.

in QoS feature not having bandwidth setting is a disappointment for me.
I have 24mbps internet connection and want to limit guest WiFi by 3-4mbps. And use rest of bandwidth for myself the other WiFi

Will there be this feature available soon?
