Deco M4 - No Speedtest In App?
Deco M4 - No Speedtest In App?
Recently began using the Deco M4. Great product.
I did a firmware update and appear to have lost the ability to perform a Speedtest in the iOS app.
If I go to router settings, I see wifi, blacklist, update deco, advanced, and WPS.
I could have sworn the ability to run a Speedtest was here previously. I've checked documentation online and it suggests this functionality should be available here.
Am I missing something?

Hello,
As far as I know, the Deco M4 doesn't support the Speedtest feature on the Deco app. Can you please confirm if you have it on the previous firmware or did you own another model before?
Thanks a lot~

Hi, you are right and the V2 of Deco X20 has removed the speedtest feature on the Deco APP.
For V1 and V1.2, this feature is still available.

Why was this feature taken off of the app?
I recently just updated to the deco X20 and one of the main reasons I decided to stay with Deco was because I could check the hard line to the main Deco for speed dips and to help keep my ISP honest with my speed.
I will now have to unplug the deco to check for speed tests via a hard-line to a laptop.
This infuriates me to no end that such a simple and very useful feature has been taken off the IOS app and no way to check it even via a local browser connection.
Will this be returned to the app in the future? Or should I look into returning the X20 for another model that has that feature?

Hi, only the V2 of Deco X20 has canceled the speed-test(V1 and V1.2 still have this feature) and it has been canceled at the date of production.
Till now, there has not been an updated plan to bring the speedtest back yet.

Is there a way to downgrade the firmware on the x20 so that this feature can be used again?

Hi, the firmware/software version(1.0.x/1.1.x/1.5.x) could not be downgraded/upgraded between different hardware versions(V1/V1.2/V2).
If you bought from the local store, the hardware version has been marked out of the box and you might replace V2 with V1 or V1.2.

@TP-Link I just upgraded my network of some M9's to include two X90's. These were fairly expensive devices. After migrating the network to use one of the X90s as the Main device, I also can no longer perform speed tests.
What gives? Over time I thought features are generally added, not removed.

Hi, Deco X90 does not have speedtest under Deco APP>More.
But you could go to Deco APP>Overview>Deco lab>Wi-Fi assistant and run the speed test here.
