This morning I upgraded the firmware on my RA305 via the Tether app and the upgrade moved through the steps as expected and the RE305 turned off at the "Reboot" stage then the Power light came on but nothing else and it's been this way all day. sad

 

I have tried powering off, a hard reset using the button on the bottom (which does nothing - no lights flash etc. just the power light which stays lit), connecting to it via Ethernet using 192.168.1.1, but nothing seems to work.

 

Any suggestions as to what I can do next?

Thank you very much for your time and patience.

The default IP of RE305 is 192.168.0.254, or http://tplinkrepeater.net ;

So what is the IP address and default gateway when you are connected to the RE305?

Are you able to ping the gateway as well?

Where are you located and how long have you have the device?

For reset, have you tried to unplug it and plug it back, then hold the reset pinhole for 10s again to have a look?

Thanks a lot for your time and patience.

Sorry for the delay.

After firmware upgrade, can you still reset the extender successfully, or even reset with no response?

And what is the model number of your extender, RE220?

How long have you had the extender?

By the way, did you update the firmware via APP, or web interface

I went through various trouble shooting options with one of your colleagues online and it was determined that the device was unrepairable.

 

I have since returned it and purchased a different extender.

 

You can close this case if you like.
