Model: Archer C7
Hardware Version: V5
Firmware Version: 1.1.0 Build 20201120 rel.50406(4341)

I use my C7 router in access point mode, not router mode, so it uses the same subnet mask, same IP range, same default gateway as the modem to which it is connected to. I also set my LAN for the router to static-IP to and DHCP server to 'on', keeping the details the same as the modem. The PC I am hosting the server on is connected to the C7 router, and then I manage the port forward settings on the host modem's settings page. When port forwarding I chose the local IP of the PC hosting the server and chose TCP protocol and the public and private range is set to 25565~25565. I can join the server fine locally on the host PC, but when I test it on another network and use my global IP + 25565 as the connection address, it does not connect.

If you are using Archer C7 in AP mode, then C7's DHCP server should be OFF. Thus, the devices in your local network, would obtain their IP addresses from the ISP modem directly. So turn off the C7's DHCP server and test again.

Does this need to be a range - 25565~25565 ? Can't you put a single port 25565 (for external/internal port) in your port-forwarding rule (ISP modem) ?

If it must be defined as a range (for a single port) then 25565~25565 is fine.
