Deco App - Deco Lab - Wi-Fi Assistant - some bugs found
TP-Link pushed updated Deco app, which has new function Deco Lab. Under it, there is a feature Wi-Fi Assistant. It has a set of neat features for WiFi diagnostics, but is not bug free.
I have found two bugs in about 20 minutes of playing with it.
1. WiFi Interference Test does not update interference description.
As a result, you might get all green Low interference with wrong description:
2. WiFi diagnostics incorrectly report upload speed in speed test.
It gives me the number which is quite higher than actual. My ISP Internet upload speed is 20Mbps, and even when ISP generously allows more, it is never over 25Mbps. Speedtest under WiFi diagnostics reports 100Mpbs-160Mpbs. I wish.
I suspect speedtest incorrectly keeps averaging download with upload speeds, while it runs upload speed test. That will only be noticeable on very asymmetrical ISP Internet connections, such as mine: 300Mbps download, 20Mbps upload.
These are my true download and upload speeds, from More/Test Internet Speed:
Regardless, WiFi Assistant is nice addition to the Deco smartphone app.
