Model: TL-WPA4220 KIT
Hardware Version: V4
Firmware Version: not sure

MY NETWORK:

BT-HUB6 (Main router provides WIFI to one end of house) with long CAT 5 cable to TL-WR841N (which provides LAN and WIFI to the other end of house) then a short CAT5 to TL-PA4010 which uses electricity cables to kitchen TL-WPA4220 (to provide WIFI) and the garage TL-WPA4220 (to proviode WIFI).

Problem:

Now I understood that the TL-WPA4220-KIT act as 'passive' extender devices which obtain their IP addresses via DHCP from the BT-HUB6 (192.168.1.254).  However I suspect the TL-WPA4220's are somehow causing other devices on the house /network (like Apple TV and BT-TV YouView boxes)  to take addresses in the 192.168.0.* range, and thus they won't then connect to the internet? Any ideas?

@JamieMac

Thanks for your feedback.

Would you please give the following beta a try to see whether or not it would fix the issue or not?

@JamieMac

Hey JamieMac

I had something similar with another vendors plugs, was near identical to what you reported and seemed to only affect Apple devices (ipads).  I never got to the bottom of why this was happening, however I did discover how to resolve it.

On the main router (192.168.1.1 in this case) I changed the DHCP scope to cover the range   192.168.1.2 through to .100...  I then manually set the extenders IP as manual 192.168.1.201 therefore taking it out of the DHCP range of the router.   This seemed to fix the issue for me

As said it was with another vendor and no idea why it was happening but hopefully that will help!
