Model: TD-W9970
Hardware Version: V2
Firmware Version: V2 200228

Seems like there is a recent trend with Routers rebooting themselves, which in my case my W9970 V2 which was bought in June has been rebooting and factory wiping itself.

It first was wiping itself every hour and now it reboots every 10-20 seconds.

Built in obsolescence maybe?

@Sasuke0

Hi, thank you very much for reporting the issue to the community. Can we have more details about the reboot issue on the TD-W9970?

1. Can we have the specific reboot symptom on the modem? When it auto-reboots, will all the LEDs on the front panel turn off then on, including the DSL light?

2. Will it recover and reconnect to the internet automatically? How long does this take?

3. Is it feeling hot? If it is, put it in a well-ventilated location or mount it vertically on a stand that permits the free flow of air, and use a fan to cool the router, a regular fan or USB fan is fine.

4. How many devices are connected to the W9970 most of the time? Is it rebooting when there is high-load or just normal browsing? What if you try to reduce some clients and monitor again?

5. When did you purchase it? Does the auto-reboot happen recently?
