  @TP-Link

I have a BE25 and just had this issue today. It's unbelievable how this is still not fixed yet. Seeing your attitude for such a major yet so easy to fix bug, I decided I will never buy tplink products ever again. In what world, it is okay for a WAN problem to cause your entire LAN to shutdown? You could literally assign an intern to this issue and they would fix it in a week at most. I don't know what kind of engineering lifecycle product owner bulltrap you are running, but it is clear it's not working. Fix this in all products at top priority ffs. This software should never have been released with this flaw.

they will never fix this issue, it's been going on for 5 years, they known about it for this long and yet they still release it that way! Trust me, they will never get their heads out of the sand at TP Link. They are to stupid unfortunately

  @TP-Link My Deco X20 (v2.0) was updated today (FW: 1.3.0 Build 20250912 Rel. 56370). Unfortunately, TP-Link still hasn’t added the option to set the WAN port, so the long-standing bug remains unresolved.

What was added instead are new parental control subscription features. Clearly, TP-Link had the time and resources to develop that, but not to fix a core functionality issue that many users have been waiting for.

If this problem isn’t addressed soon, my next router will definitely not be a TPLink.

It’s really frustrating that most Deco mesh models don’t have the option to turn off WAN auto-sense or at least give us an option to lock an RJ45 port as LAN only or WAN only.

I’ve bought 4 Deco models, and only the X50 supports disabling WAN auto-sense. Even my new BE65, which is clearly marketed for slightly advanced home setups with a consumer NAS, Home Assistant, etc, still forces auto WAN sensing, dropping connections to my server running home assistant, pi-hole and network storage. I mean the Deco BE65 is literally made for running a home nas with its Quad 2.5gbe ports and super fast wireless back hauling.

Deco is supposed to make networking simple, but the over-simplified settings actually get in the way. Basic options such as disabling WAN auto-sense or disabling LAN isolation on Guest WiFi should be available. These are not “expert-only” features; they’re essential settings for anyone running a home with slightly more than the basics.

Ease of use shouldn’t mean removing control from the people who actually invest in your higher-end products.

Please allow users to disable auto-wan sensing and create guest network without device isolation. At least on newer, still supported deco models.
