@TP-Link When is this going to be available for the M4? My network is literally unusable and the only way around this is to get a refund for these poor networking devices.

@ESIntegrators

You can upload the firmware through the web interface. But the issues is as many including my self are experiencing is that it simply doesn't work or respect the signal steering changes you make. Even after reboot of deco / devices it just connect how it wants to!
so a updated fix in the firmware needs to be released to actually have this working.

@TP-Link how do we actually upload the firmware to the system, via the app? We need this desperately for signal steering in a large installation that we are having stability issues with.

@TP-Link what's purpose of this beta program?

The 1.6 beta was published 3 months ago. Many bug reports and there is no any new 1.6.x update for supposed bug fixes .

People are trying to colaborate but this kind of beta program is not working.

@xQuantum

In addition to that, USB ports of M9 plus are completely useless. At least we should connect USB HDD there.

The last update for M9 Plus was 8-9 months ago and it's your top line product, and 1.6.0 is on beta status for 3 months now without any news about other models ETA. We need these features as soon as possible on M9 Plus, Signal source and preferred 2.4/5GHz is important since some devices just doesn't work well with same SSID, like the iPhone, always connected to 2.4 when the device is almost 6-8 meters away with one thin wall, and if you turn off 2.4 and leave 5GHz only on the same place the iPhone has strong 5GHz connections which means we need this priority bands thing to solve these type of issues.

I have the same issue as well. The update doesn't break my setup, but also doesn't add any of the new features it seems, at least it for now doesn't respect the changes.
I wonder why no 1.6.1 etc have been released for follow up tests with bug fixes with all the people that have contributed with great info here for long time! Especially when you ask people to test your firmware.  Also can it really be that it's still not possible to limit devices from going out on internet, but internal network only!? Like for all the IoT in the home. I think the firmware is getting (slowly) to a state where the Deco can compete with others. But the lack of new features like being able to separate into several SSID's / Vlan's / subnets holds me back from buying the deco x90's to replace all my M5's.

@TP-Link I just update the 1.6.0 firmware without any issue in the installation process; the only issue is assigning deco connection from devices, it doesn't work. For multiple devices I set the closest deco but they end-up connecting to another one.

@NickatNite

HI, I would like to follow up on your case by email and please check whether you could get an email from us.

At the same time, could you please send me some screenshots that,

On the Deco APP, The signal source has been changed to the nearest Deco, while on the web UI map, they are still connected to the main Deco.

Please also go to Deco APP>overview>three lines on the top>help>contact us>suggestions and add APP system log.

By the way, I see there are several M5 and M9 plus under your TP-Link ID and are they all in the same Mesh network?

 Thank you very much.
