Model: TL-WPA8630P KIT
Hardware Version:
Firmware Version:

I am looking at the WP8630P WiFi Powerline kit (https://www.tp-link.com/uk/home-networking/powerline/tl-wpa8631p-kit/) which comes with one main Powerline adapter and one Powerline WiFi range extender. I need to get the pass though kit as the plug socket near my router has only one socket.

I may may need to extend the kit by adding a second Powerline range extender and whilst I could get another of the WP8630P adapters (https://www.tp-link.com/uk/home-networking/powerline/tl-wpa8631p/) I don’t need the pass through socket so wondered what other TP-Link Powerline WiFi extenders are compatible with the main Powerline adapter (which I think is TL-PA8010P).

Anyone setup something similar using different Powerline WiFi extenders when extending the kit?

@Aussie_Pete Hello,

For compatibility, please check 2.There are TP-Link powerline devices in the house already in the introduction below:
https://www.tp-link.com/en/support/faq/2725/

It is recommended to choose powerline devices with the same powerline speed for the best performance, so if you have a AV1300KIT, it suggested considering another AV1300 unit the extender, if you need wifi frature, the model could be TL-WPA8630P, TL-WPA8630 * no power socket.

As far as I know, most powerline units are sold by KIT.  If you couldn't  find a single AV1300 wireless extender from online stores or local retailers, you may have to consider a powerline KIT which includes one wifi adapter +one wired adapter which could also work as a wired extender.

@Solla-topee Thanks that's good information. Looks like I could try the AV600 (https://www.tp-link.com/uk/home-networking/powerline/tl-wpa4220/) depending on the speed required or failing that try and get a single AV1300 device
