Hello,

I'm after a TP-Link VDSL Modem for my FTTC connection, but I don't think that one exists so, which model Modem/router do I go for?

  • It needs to have the Sky MER setup
  • It needs to be bridge mode capable

I don't really need a router as I have one (Firewalla Gold) and I will be disabling the onboard Wifi as I have an Omada setup here, which I'm very happy with.

Any suggestions please.

Thank you

Stoneditch

@Stoneditch

Hi, we don’t have a pure DSL modem that supported SKY_MER.

Most of our VDSL products are modem-router combo.

Take Archer VR900 for example, It has a Sky MER setup and also has bridge mode.

But Archer VR900 only supported MER under DSL modem router mode.

PS: SKY has made it clear that they don’t support third-party modems, so please make sure that you have got the service provider’s permission.

Thank you very much.

@TP-Link

Hi, TP-Link. Thanks for responding. Just to be clear Sky changed their T&C's around 2 years ago to reflect the fact that end users can use their own equipment to connect. Of course Sky won't support CPE's that are not theirs.

Looks like I'll have to get a VR900 then.
