Web UI Configuration

The initial plan of the Deco Whole Mesh system is to configure via Deco APP as we hope to provide a super-easy installation and non-high tech required experience.
Due to this commitment, Deco APP allows us to quickly and easily install Mesh Wi-Fi System by just following the step-by-step set-up wizard. Some users commented, ”This thing literally holds your hand through the full setup. 99% of people will hit next, next, next, and you are on the internet” which is just what we want.
Next, Deco App allows monitoring the home Wi-Fi from anywhere without bringing a laptop and making changes right from your smartphone or tablet. So as long as taking your smartphone with you, the home network activity is under your control.
Then, with a few taps on the APP, the advanced features, like Parental Control, Port Forwarding, and QoS are ready to go.
Moreover, when it comes to firmware upgrades, the Deco APP will automatically push a message when new firmware is ready. All you need to do is click “Update Deco”.
While, with the time going on, we gradually received some feedback that users hope Deco could be configured via web UI or more advanced features could be configured on the web interface. Unfortunately, there has been no plan to add these features yet.
But we are open to any feedback and would be appreciated it if you could let us know why you prefer web configuration to APP setup. So we would collect more brilliant ideas which might be taken into consideration along with the future APP upgrade.
Thank you very much for your attention and please feel free to comment below.

It is very unfortunet.
I created this account just for this comment and now i will start de-commisioning my tp-link devices.

@tplink : STOP PASTING THE SAME BS IDIOTIC TEXT FOR YOUR BS MARKETING ATTEMPT FOR THE RIDICULOUS APP AND FOR NOT LISTENING TO THE CUSTOMERS.
YOUR APP IS NOT USABLE NOR HAS THE ADEQAUTE FEATURES AND FUNCTIONALITIES FOR ADVANCED NETWORK CONFIGURATIONS!
i AM ALSO RETURNING YOUR PRODUCT, SOLELY BECAUSE OF THIS RIDICULOUS MOVE ON TPLINK PART OF ELIMINATING THE ABILITY TO DO NETWORK SETUP AND MANAGEMENT FROM THE BROWSER!

@TP-Link Even after several years still a valid comment from various users. Especially people managing multiple networks are in desperate need of web based Gui and/or a PC/MAC based app and not only an Android/IOS app. There are a lot of people out here that have way more knowledge on networks and want to be able to manage their networks in a proper way.
You've asked for comments on why we as users wanted to have such interface and already several years people have been requesting it. Your hardware is OK, but the software lacks what users want. Isn't listening to customers a prime objective? Take Sonos as an example.... They didn't listen #NeedISayMore

@TP-Link A Web UI with more options would be fanstastic. I have a Deco X55, love it and other Deco models as I work IT, however I can not give more than a 3 out of 5 ratings because the App is so frustrating to use, barely functions most of the time, has extremely limited information and settings, and overall its kinda a nightmare to work with.

seen your post about just using Deco as access points...
I have 2 x X95 decos currently as my main network and then have an Archer AX90 in AP mode running a 2.4 only network for my legacy dumb IoT devices...
would it be beneficial to use the AX90 as my primary router with the DECO just in AP mode instead?
my network is pretty reliable... around 60 devices over the 2 wifi networks and Ethernet connections.

@DoinitSideways if it aint broke dont fix ( unless the app only frustrates you to no end)
Personally it will most likely just end up doing your head in making changes and breaking poo.
If it were me and the bugs in Deco app were too much this would be my config with your gear.
AX90 as primary router (has web gui)..setup your ssid etc for your 2.4 network)
Reset and refire setup your Deco X95 as access points (you can use app to monitor those if needed)...your DHCP all handled by your AX90 and all devices connected to your decos will be all leased and appear in your AX90 gui. It will all work seamlessly and you have a webgui to have some more control over the settings that matter most
Hope this is helpful mate!

@TP-Link For everyone wanting a web interface ...
I'm flummoxed that TP-Link still hasnt' released a web gui to access the cloud for controlling Deco mesh networks, because I certainly could use it for the ~12 mesh networks I administer.
However, if you really need a web gui, for a few dollars more, you can get into the TP-Link Omada mesh environment and get more configuration options than you can shake a stick at.
- Multiple SSIDs
- Frequency selection
- DNS, DHCP, etc, etc, etc
Access points start at 89 bucks ea, and you don't need the hardware-based controller: you can install the controller on a PC, Raspberry Pi, or use TPLink's cloud.
Just be aware that the Omada units are (ideally) designed to run on POE. So if you need to set up an AP with an ethernet cable back to your wiring closet, be sure to get a 12v power supply for your unit (some units include the power supply).
Enjoy!
And TP-Link - please do an update of this web page:
How to log into the web-based interface of my Deco | TP-Link
Thanks.
