If I change my new routers default IPv4 address on my new router to the IPv4 address on my last router, will my network completely fall apart or is it straight forward? I only want to change it because I have an IP address thats outside my new routers range and it's not being picked up by tyhe new router.

My routers address IPv4 192.168.178.1 and the DHCP server assigns IPv4 addresses between 192.168.178.20 to 192.168.178.200.  The IP address I need to reach is 192.168.1.101.

Many thanks

Hi @spagettilegs

Thanks for reaching out to us.

May I know what is the model of your old router and new router?

How does your new router connect to old router? In another word, what is your network topology?

And how does this 192.168.1.101 device connect to your new router? Did you set static IP on this device?

Here are two methods based on my current presumption to help you access to 192.168.1.101 device:

Method one: On 192.168.1.101 device, please change settings from static IP to dynamic IP, so that this device will get IP from the new router, then you can reach to this device.

Method two: In your network, if there is only new router, you can try to change the LAN IP address of your new router to 192.168.1.1, then your new router is in the same subnet with the 192.168.1.101 device.

How to change the LAN IP on a TP-Link router (new Logo)?
