T4U Plus runs at high speed not superspeed
T4U Plus runs at high speed not superspeed
Recently replaced a T3U USB adapter with the T4U Plus adapter. The T3U ran as USB 3.0 (superspeed) but the T4U runs in the same port as USB 2.0 (highspeed) .
The T4U does show a speed increase over the T3U but I feel it could do more if it were recognised as USB 3.0. Is this normal behaviour or have I missed something?

Hello @basa48
Here is a chipset driver that might help, please give it a try:
Realtek Chipset Driver for Archer T2U(Nano/ Pus)/T3U(Nano/ Plus)/T4U(Plus)/T4UH/T9UH (Win7/Win10)
Do did you test T4U and T3U in the same USB 3.o port, can you share the photo showing the superspeed or high speed?

Hi
Yes, tried both in the same port. I have only two USB 3.0 ports and I tried both ports. Here is a screen shot of the USB Tree report:

@basa48 I should say the new drivers you suggested do work better (faster downloads) but USB port still runs at high speed.

Hello @basa48
If you owns a dual-band wifi router, please connect to 5Ghz wifi band and see if the USB is recognized as USB 3.0
Can you check the driver date, motherboard information and share a photo here.
How to check driver version of TP-Link adapters and system information of your computer?

We have a dual band Virgin Hub 3 router and my PC is reported as connected at 5G at 235Mbps. My PC is upstairs about 15m from the router with a brick wall in between. Signal strength status is 4 bars with a speed 270Mbps.
3 different speedtests show between 80 and 100Mbps.
Attached are driver details and PC details.

@basa48 OK, so I've decided to ditch the T4U Plus in favour of my T3U Mini. With the drivers suggested above it tests at between 80-100Mbps download which iis marginally FASTER than the T4U Plus!
I've reinstalled the adapter drivers (from your link above) and the USB 3.0 eXtensible Host Controller drivers and still get highspeed not superspeed. I'm still investigating why the drop from superspeed to highspeed in the USB port.

Hey @basa48 thank you for the update, changing to T3U adapter sounds like a temporary workaround, I noticed our senior followed up the support ticket TKID220400574, you may reply that email so they could take a look into that further.

@basa48 Unfortunately no real solution. The T4U Plus refused to connect at superspeed with recommended drivers or TP-Link standard drivers. The T3U DOES connect at superspeed and is giving me comparable speeds to the T4U Plus. I have returned the T4U for refund.
