Model: Archer AX11000
Hardware Version:
Firmware Version:

I am considering upgrading my router but I am undecided which route to go

first, I really like the Archer AX11000, I like how many Ethernet ports it has and that it has port aggregation.

My current problem is that I have a lot of TP-Link switches and amazon echos in the house so they are starting to cause issues. I have a total of 41 devices with 25 in the 2.4Ghz band and I hope to add a few more IoT switches.

My questions are:

with my expected growth, would the AX11000 be enough to handle all my devices on the 2.4 Ghz channel?

If i get the Deco X90 with two units, what's the maximum number of devices I can connect to the 2.4Ghz band?

If you think the DecoX90 is the way to go, is there a nice Ethernet switch I can pair with the main device that would do port aggregation?

thanks

  @CarlosRoque

Hi, welcome to the community.

both have their pros and cons. and based on my experience, Archer AX11000 is able to change wireless channels and set up a different SSID for 2.4ghz which would be nice for smart home devices.

30-35*2.4ghz devices would still be acceptable for both Deco X90 and AX11000.

Deco X90 would be good for roaming experience and larger coverage while most smart devices are static. and AX11000 could create OneMesh Network with OneMesh range extenders as well.

Thank you, I ended up getting an archer ax11000 and a re505x set up with one mesh. It works way better than anything I have owned before. I think the OneMesh functionality is understated in your advertising. It really is a great feature
