@David-TP I find it quite frustrating because I got the Xe75 to expand my home network, but most of my devices automatically connect to the 2.4GHz network. Even though there's an option in the Deco app to pick the network, it doesn't seem to be the solution.

I really don't want to configure each device individually; I just want the SSID to be separate and work smoothly.

Is there any information about this function being implemented?

I'm going crazy with all my devices

@DennisSchmitz55 Yes you can change the network settings after it's set up. After setting it up on 2.4Ghz you can then later enable 5Ghz as well and change this whenever.

@David-TP Indeed, this feature is most demanded, to have separate SSIDs for 2.4Ghz and 5Ghz.

But what if I decided to use the workaround indefinitely as mentioned in point 3 in the original post? I mean set the main network to 5Ghz only and configure guest network with a different SSID to 2.4Ghz only?

If you don't have much guests and don't need guest network for the original purpose, then are there inherent drawback to this configuration? Thanks.

@David-TP Really want this feature also. Is crazy that it's not standard. Thinking of using different mesh provider.

@David-TP

Will this IoT network be rolling out to more devices, specifically the M4?

Tried twice to post on the IoT network thread but post just vanished.

Got the Xe75 and iOT exactly does what it's supposed to do. No issues with 2.4GHz-only smart devices at all!

Is it really too much of a chore to answer a simple question? Or is your silence indicative of the whole TP-Link malaise of "We've already had their money, stuff 'em"?

I think that the only useful thing we can do at this point  is to write an email to the Tp-link CEO linking this shaming chat let him know how is careless his customer support.

I'm searching on web for the CEO person...

I wouldn't waste your time. A culture of "Couldn't care less" generally eminates from the top down.

Hi, May I know the model number as well as hardware version for your Deco?

How to find the hardware version on a TP-Link device

There already have been proper suggestions for this issue:

  • If your Deco supports IOT network,

You could try to enable 5GHz only on the main network with SSID#1; then  enable IOT for 2.4GHz only with SSID#2. The main network and IOT network could communicate with each other.

  • If your Deco does not support IOT network yet, it must support the Guest network,

You could enable 5GHz only on the main network with SSID#1, the enable guest network for 2.4GHz only with SSID#2.

Thank you very much and best regards.
