Hi guys,

I was in easter holidays. Tplink support send me a m9 plus firmware version 1.6.1 and everything is OK. Tested now.

I get full bandwidth from my ISP.

Is your set up wired or wireless deco mesh access points?

And with fw 1.6.1 better speed over wifi.

I hope TP-Link share with you guys the new firmware.

Same problem here, 1gbit speed cut in halve and left with aprox. 500mbits of speed. Contacted TP-Link Netherlands, they said not knowing about version 1.6.1 and not familiar with the speed issue. They gonna reach out towards TP-Link main office

The issue is not the wireless speed. The issue is the wired network speed.

If you have a wired backhaul then the loss of speed at every mesh node will be noticeable. If you use the built-in wireless backhaul, the data speed will be halved for every hop. The principle of working is quite similar to the range extenders but the advantage of Mesh is that it will help you switch between the nodes seamlessly like your mobile phones which switch between cell towers seamlessly.

For those using the default wireless backhaul, the issue is that when you do a speed test using the built-in app, the max speed it hits is about 500 Mbps even though your subscribed internet speed may be higher. This you can see at the Master node. This has a domino effect on the wifi speeds at the slave nodes as the speed will halve for every hop. If you have subscribed to a 1Gbps internet speed, the first hop will produce only 250 Mbps (max) as the Master node is now limited to 500 Mbps max.

For those using a wired backhaul, the speed at each node is now limited to a max of 500 Mbps.

I believe/understand from the previous posting by @Dekonass that this issue of hitting a max of 500 Mbps is solved with the firmware revision 1.6.1.
