Model: Archer VR2100
Hardware Version: V1
Firmware Version: 1.6.0 0.9.1 v009e.0 Build 220518 Rel.41627n

Hello,

I was a very happy TP-Link customer for more than a month since I had bought this Archer VR2100 until it started giving me momentary disconnects, those so instantenous that I can only count myself lucky at times I could spot them.

It started giving me headaches when I started getting "Disconnected from Steam" errors while playing Call of Duty Modern Warfare II and Warzone 2.0 and I thought they something to do with this newly released multiplayer-heavy FPS game however my wife - who is on her PC all day joining Slack calls and whatnot - added that she was constantly getting dropped from calls or online saves failing, I started having suspicions.

Yesterday, around these times, when I was on CODMW2 and I got the same errors again and this time I was lucky to spot the offline/online icon changes at the system tray on Windows 11 and I could only confirm what my wife was pestering me about.

I contacted my ISP and they told me they could not detect any errors on their side so here I am posting some screenshots from modem's interface I hope would be useful to rectify the issues. I am happy to tag along with any Beta firmwares if any are available, fyi.

Please help. Thanks in advance.

  @LeftEyeNine

Hi, welcome to the community.

Did you save any pictures when the modem was offline?

The above pictures look like everything is running well.

If possible, you could email support.forum@tp-link.com with the following information:

1. A screenshot of the Advanced>status page when the modem was displayed offline.

2. The system log during the disconnection. (Please do not restart the modem when trying to save the log.)

At the same time, can you help me check some details:

1. How often would you usually notice the disconnection?

2. Do you need to restart the modem to get the internet service back?

3. May I know who is your internet service provider?

Thank you very much.

best regards.

Hello,

As the title says, the modem disconnects MOMENTARILY so it is practically impossible to get a screenshot while the modem is offline because it stays like that for a second or maybe two.

The system log from the last few hours including the latest one timestamped at 03:00 is as below:

About your latter series of questions:

1- 5-6 times a day. Sometimes not once for hours, sometimes plagues the connection that happens like every 10-15 minutes or so.

2- No. It MOMENTARILY loses connection and comes back almost instantly.

3- Turk Telekom of Turkey.

Thanks for the reply.

  @owen243

Hi, please confirm if there is any LED changes when the problem happens, especially the DSL LED and Internet LED, is the DSL light still solid on or will it turn off or flashing when you lose internet access?

In addition, please help to confirm the following details:

1. The hardware version and firmware version of your Archer VR2100

2. How often does the issue happen? like once a day etc.

3. Will all client devices lose internet access at the same time, including wired and wireless devices? or only random devices disconnect?

4. Is your Archer VR2100 a brand new device? or it was working stably before?

5. Who is your ISP? Is it ADSL or VDSL line? and what is the WAN connection type? like PPPoE etc.

6. When the problem happens, it always recovers automatically in a few seconds, right? please save a system log file and attach the log file instead of copying the whole logs.
