New Arrival Deco X50-Outdoor

In November, TP-Link officially announced the introduction of three new Deco Models to provide a whole home mesh network: Deco X50-Outdoor, Deco X50–PoE, and Deco PX50-The new generation of G.hn Powerline Mesh. Now as the second member of the Deco POE family after Deco X50-POE, Deco X50-Outdoor starts exploring the outdoor deployment of Deco.
Set to release on December 20th, 2022, the Deco X50–Outdoor is now available for preorder on Amazon in the US. For other regions, please stay tuned for the update of this post. We have seen many users over the years attempt to use their indoor deco systems to try and expand their mesh network over longer distances, to other buildings, or simply to their pool. With Deco X50-Outdoor, your Deco Network can be officially extended beyond the confines of your walls without putting the device at risk.

I have no idea what the hold up is on this. Even my year's old E4R Decos have been upgraded recently to include Eco Mode.
I realise many of us use the X50-Outdoor for motion sensing outdoor cameras and would probably need to turn off Eco Mode for the X50-Outdoor, but at least it would be good to utilise Eco Mode for the X50/55/60.
Of course, alternatively, why not simply allow Eco Mode when a X50-Outdoor is connected with the appropriate warrning that the Outdoor Deco is excluded from Eco Mode if the hardware cannot implement it?

It would be something to be able to use it for internal units. However, in my case I would like to disable the 5GHz network during the night and maybe also lower the power. All the sensors I have, cams and appliances work at 2.4GHz. I use the 5GHz network only to have a performance boost during the day but I don't like wasting energy unnecessarily and especially having a 5GHz network active in the bedroom. I hope this change will be implemented soon and I hope as many users as possible request this from TP Link periodically. I will certainly do so.

any news? I'm still waiting for a new fw which can enable the ecomode feature...

Good luck with that.
We were promised a FW update in Autumn, and it did indeed arrive (though not via the app for some reason). But all it contained was a few security fixes.
I can't see the X50-Outdoor FW matching the X50 FW despite the similarity in model numbers, if they could have done so, they would have done it by now. My guess is it's not capable.
EDIT: The FW update 1.3.0 is only available for the US market.
Unfortunately the neighbour I donated my Deco equipment has given up on it, so I have it all back now. Like me, she has moved to Asus. Three nodes replacing 6 Decos and with no outdoor node I have a better outdoor signal. It really does suggest something inherently and fundamentally wrong with Deco.

@SteveWex As I wrote, I have 2 Deco X50 and 1 Deco X50 Outdoor. I'm overall satisfied, but I can't understand why it's taking so long to implement a feature already used on other very similar units. If it were possible to enable it at least for the internal units, that would be something, but the fact that only one unit can disable the feature on all the others is quite annoying.TP-Link, take action!

I'm more sure than ever the X50-Outdoor is not capable of low power modes. The unit is now superseded. It was released in 2022, almost three years ago. If they could have done it, they would have long ago.
