Firmware Version: 0.1.0 0.9.1 v5006.0 Build 220518

I have a HDD drive connected via USB to this router and it has worked beautifully for the past year. Yesterday my service provider technician asked me to to a factory reset on the modem (hold pin on button for 15 seconds etc.). Ever since then I cannot reconnect to the USB storage device. In fact, it worked for a moment but then stopped working.

So the HDD is showing up in the router menu without any prob. But it is not showing up on my Win11 Network Neighborhood. In the past I was able to map it as a network drive but when I try that now it does not work and the problem solver tells me that "The remote device or resource won't accept the connection".

I realize I don't have the Media Server turned on, but I don't want to share it that way - I want it to show up in the network neigborhood.

Furthermore, I can no longer switch off 'Share All'. I get "Error code 1 Internal error"

What am I missing? What feature or function do I have to turn back on? Please, please, please help!

Thank you in advance,

Oli

@Oliwally Hi, Thanks for the feedback.

Could you please go to Advanced>System Tools>Backup&Restore to back up the current network configuration?

After that, please reset the modem one more time.

Then, don't set up the internet at first, try to detect the USB drive, and map this drive on windows 11. Please also try to check whether the same error pops up again when switching off "share all".

Best regards.

@David-TP Hello, thanks very much for helping out.

I have followed your instructions with some success, although my modem does not have the backup function you described. But that is ok.

After resetting the modem as you described I can now map the network drive as usual, but the device still does not show in my network neighborhood as it should.

Since the connection is now working, I have not tried to switch off the "share all" function, fearing that I may lose connection again and I do, in fact, want to share the entire drive.

I also switched off 'Enable Authentication' (which is correct for my circumstances - I don't want authentication) but when I tried to turn it back on (just to try it) I once again received the internal error notification. Quite odd.

All the same, I have achieved what I needed to in mapping the drive without authentication, so all is well....for now. I will post again if it stops working again.

Thank you again for your help.

Kind regards,

Oli
