4G/3G Router only connects to 3G
Hello tp-link Community,
I hope you're all doing well. I'm writing this post because I'm experiencing a perplexing issue with my TP-Link router, and I'm hoping to get some help and advice from fellow users who might have encountered a similar problem.
I have a TP-Link router that's capable of providing both 3G and 4G connectivity. However, it has consistently been delivering only 3G speeds, with a maximum speed of around 1Mb/s. What's more puzzling is that my neighbor, who lives directly below me on the 1st floor, has the exact same router and plan as mine but is consistently getting 4G connectivity and speeds three times faster than mine and even more.
- I have tried changing the SIM card to another one with the same plan (4G unlimited), and I even replaced the router itself with another from same model to check if my router had problem, but the problem persists.
- I also inserted the SIM card of the router in my phone to check if it can provide 4G, but still only connects to 3G (4G is provided in our area)
1. Why is my router not delivering 4G speeds when it's capable of doing so?
2. Why is there such a significant speed difference between my neighbor's router and mine, even though I'm closer to my router?
I'm hoping that the tp-link community can shed some light on this issue and provide suggestions on how to resolve it. I've checked signal strength, interference, and various settings, but I'm at a loss for what could be causing this discrepancy.
If anyone has any insights or has encountered a similar problem, please share your experiences and any steps you took to resolve the issue. Your help would be greatly appreciated!
Thank you in advance for your assistance.
