Model: RE600X
Hardware Version: V3
Firmware Version: 1.0.11 Build 20230721 Rel. 34344

Each time I monitor the extender through Tether, it initially and briefly shows 16 clients (where there should be 0), and then shows the real number (-, for instance). When I try to see the client's data, it shows them under the UNKNOWN list, each one UNKNOWN and with IP 0.0.0.0. I feared it might be a hack or something like it, but no home is near enough to get covered by the extender signal (I live in front of a public park). The firmware is up to date. The router is an AX20. Its firmware is also up to date, and it does not show the phantom clients. Does anyone has an idea what this can be, other than a firmware defect? Thanks

  @rjms

Thank you very much for your feedback.

I think it might be related to the Tether APP. Could you please help share some screenshots on the Tether APP?

Wait for your reply and best regards.

  @David-TP

Hi David, thanks for your reply. I'll try to send you the screenshots Tether allowed me to take. I think this forum allows only one attached file by reply, so perhaps Iwould answer 3 times.

  @rjms Thank you very much for the pictures.

I checked on other TP-link Apps, such as Deco APP. When devices are offline/disconnected, Deco APP would not display any IP address, only its device name and MAC address. So I think Tether APP used 0.0.0.0 to represent the disconnected clients.

As for the "unknown devices", most of the time, it is caused by the Private Address/Random MAC Address on the mobile devices.

Currently, there is already a plan to optimize the client UI and APP performance on the Tether APP.

New UI for 11AX Routers on Tether App 4.3 version is Ready for Trial

It will start with several models first and will be introduced to other Tether supports models.

Best regards.
