Has anyone had any luck finding a 4G USB dongle that will work as a backup 3G/4G device on the VR400 V3 in the UK?

 

I've tried a couple - Huawei E3372-325 and ZTE MF833N  - both of them say 'Connected' but they don't display a network name (e.g. Vodafone) or pick up a WAN address when plugged in. They work fine when connected directly to a laptop so I know they're working with a SIM card fine.

Ther's a compatibility list for 4G dongles that VR400 can use, just select your country - here.

  @terziyski yes I've already checked that - there's nothing listed for UK

Maybe you could try Huawei E3372h-320, which is mentioned in a previous firmware release note:
