Deco m4 combined with Archer AX73
Hello,
i want to buy the archer AX73 but is it compatible with the deco m4? My current setup: router in bridge mode and 4 deco's. It is working well but i am missing some good router features. Upstairs i had some WiFi problems so there are 2 deco m4 on the first floor that I don't want to miss. Can I put the decos in access point mode with the ax73 as my main router?
regards.

Hi, you are right, there is no need to put a Deco next to the Archer since both of them have WiFi, in that you case, you could remove Archer directly and use Deco as main router.
Deco cannot connect wirelessly to the Archer, so using powerline in between is also an option, but if the powerline rate is low due to the powerline device itself or due to the electrical wire in your house, the Deco internet speed will be limited as well, so choosing a higher speed powerline device and ensuring a good powerline evironment is important.

Hi, it is okay to use AX73 as main router and Deco as AP mode, usually when someone said they are not compatible, they should mean they are unable to build a mesh network, that is to say, AX73 WiFi and Deco WiFi cannot build a mesh together, but they are still able to connect with each other for internet.

@Sunshine thank you. So when I put the archer in the meter box it's not ideal to put an deco next side to it I think...with the WiFi interference. Is it better to use a power line for connecting the deco upstairs? Or can deco connect wirelessly to the archer without a main deco close to the archer?

@Sunshine thank you! I will think about it. For now I have a R7000 flashed with ddwrt. I try that first with the deco's in accespoint mode and the WiFi from the router turned off
